Travel free
Trentino Trasporti – one of the first public transport companies in Italy – has launched the “Travel free” project, which allows the community to be offered a service that is qualitatively efficient and competitive, and, above all, accessible to all without barriers.
The choice fell for a program that did not create a “special transport”, but rather gave birth to a “normal transport”, thus granting everyone, whether “able” o “with disabilities”, the chance of access the vehicles.
For city services that envisage the use of an extractable blade (electric or manual) for boarding, all the stops where the service is enabled are specifically authorized by the Public Transport Service of the Autonomous Province of Trento (security clearance). The stops enabled for people with disabilities boarding or getting off are marked by the appropriate black symbol against an orange background on the stop signage; they are also indicated with a special pictogram by the timetables shown to the public.
Trento City Service
All the lines of the Trento city service (except for those run under sub dealership by a private car rental company or by the intercity service, i.e.: line C, line CM and line G) are "barred". Stops suitable for use by wheelchair users with disabilities represent 50% of the total (304 out of 607) and all vehicles used are equipped with a super low-profile extractable blade platform for wheelchairs to board or get off and a reserved seat with safety belt.
